Ghost Dancing

Matthew is way into this silly dancing ghost at the grandparents' house. He's perfected the dance and the two of them make great partners. The sound quality isn't great, as it was windy that day, but you get the idea.

Boo at the Zoo

The four of us took advantage of a break in the wind for an evening of trick-or-treating at the children's zoo.

Matthew was very excited for the first chance to wear his duck costume and soon figured out that he could wag his tail with the right amount of wiggle. And the only person who was more excited about Matthew's costume was Sammy. He couldn't stop laughing at his fuzzy big brother or attempting to take a bite out of the beak.

The camera battery died at the beginning of the evening, so I didn't get those antics on film. Luckily, we seem to have a Halloween event nearly everyday this week, so there should be plenty more photo ops.

Pumpkin Patch!

We spent Sunday afternoon at our favorite pumpkin patch. We've always loved it, but it gets better every year.

This trip was complete with scaling the tire mountain, climbing the haystack pyramid, eating apples off the trees (even though picking season is technically over), eating rocks (OK, only Sammy was into this), cider slushes, and tricycle riding.

Oh, and we picked a pumpkin too.

Old Park New Park

The boys and I drove my mom to her home town for a quick visit yesterday. I promised that after a few hours in the car, we would go to the park to run off the crazies. Imagine my surprise when, in addition to all the new equipment, there were several items I remember playing on when I was a child. They still had the old tornado slide, the see-saws, the wooden merry-go-round, and several other things. I tried to convince Matthew to get on the old tornado slide, but he said it was too tall. I admit, I took a ride but afterwards agreed with Matthew and opted not to go again. Sammy was very excited about the tree house and hippo that were just his size.

2010 Zoo Farewell

We said goodbye to the children's zoo for 2010 today. The season went by way too fast! Matthew is already asking about next year.

The last train ride!

Someone was a little worn out from the afternoon.

Fall Wreath

We have been blown away by all the beautiful colors on the trees this fall. Matthew loves to bring these colors home, but we don't have a lot of storage for leaves. OK, so maybe it's me who doesn't like to store outside toys inside. Today we decided to collect as many different colors of leaves as we could find at the zoo and make a wreath for our window.

In and Out

It's too soon to tell if Sammy has a future in golf, but he has mastered putting the ball into the hole and getting it back out again. I'm quite happy as it means I now have a new helper when it's time to put toys away.
