Signing Fish
Sammy celebrated his favorite part of the zoo today by learning a new sign. It's dark, but hey, we're inside the aquarium.
Zoo!
Owen decided to take this beautiful day off of work for a much-needed family day and we decided to spend it at the zoo. Usually when we go as a family, it's on a weekend and quite crowded. But, today it was very empty and we really had an opportunity to see everything we wanted to see without being rushed. And really, who could stop being outside this fall?
Matthew is currently obsessed with maps. I think it started when he realized that the signs at the children's zoo tell which continent the animals were from. He draws maps on his doodle to preschool, to the park, to pretty much anywhere we are going. He was VERY excited to get a zoo map and tell us where to go next.
And who is surprised that Sammy passed out again? We wear this poor kid out!

Trick or Treat!
We took the kids out trick or treating tonight. Matthew didn't last near as long as we thought he would, but he's quite impressed by his candy haul and eager to earn a piece about 100 times a day. Oh, if only mom were that big of a pushover!
Sammy also liked his treats, though sadly, Matthew is busy trying to earn those as well. Because, as Matthew knows, "babies can't have candy!"

Pumpkin Carving
I can't get enough of fall fun. Really, I think we take twice as many pictures of activities in September/October than we do at Christmas. Today we carved Matthew's pumpkin. He took this very seriously this year and made sure we sketched the face out first.
Matthew's favorite part seemed to be popping out the carved pieces.
The finished product!

It's the Great Pumpkin!
Last year, our family started a holiday tradition. We have hot chocolate, popcorn, and stay up a little late to watch the Charlie Brown specials. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was on last night and the tradition continued. Unfortunately, Matthew has decided that popcorn is "not his favorite," anymore, so we skipped out and went straight to the hot chocolate. Sammy, much to his chagrin, was stuck with water. As you can see, it was not for lack of trying.

| "Daddy, please can I have some?" |
| "Fine, water it is." |
